Out the Door, the Billy Ward Trio
"I absolutely love this very musical CD...Billy plays with such a great touch and feel, and the sound of the recording is amazing... A completely wonderful listening experience"
- Dave Weckl
"This is the coolest music I have heard in a very long time. I think it's the hippest Jazz I've heard in a long time. Your playing is very different from what I am used to hearing from you and I really like it. It sounds great too, and it definitely has a great "live" vibe. love the compositions, very cool and slick in a slightly "leftfield" kinda way. Great stuff!" - Thomas Lang

Two Hands Clapping
Two Hands Clapping is an album consisting of
ten duets conceived and produced by drummer Billy Ward. Billy has
invited star guest artists to perform the duets with him based on their
desire and ability to embrace the unusual and play / sing something
extraordinary, stretching the normal boundaries that exist in band-type
formats. "Drummer’s record of the year”-- Modern Drummer Magazine. Buy THC here.
Billy Ward Trio Rehearsal Tapes & Live Videos
The day was September 17, 2008. The location was a modest lakeside home in up-state New York. Three men. Two microphones. Eight songs. Forty Six minutes of aural bliss.
Then only the day later, at an intimate club in Manhattan, two brilliant videographers captured the elusive jazz monster on film.
The premise is simple. It is up to YOU to set the price for this footage. it costs money to produce this stuff, so we hope you are willing and able to help out with the costs. You won’t hear music played well in this world if the musicians cannot afford to play it, or record it, or videotape it.

New BW Tools!
Pro-Mark recently unveiled a new Billy Ward signature drumstick, nicknamed "the Bulb". It has a “Classic” 5A length and diameter with a barrel shaped wood tip and ‘comfort bulb’ for control when playing with a loose, relaxed grip. Check it out over on the Pro-Mark website.
Billy also bumped heads with RythymTech, and together they came up with the StickBall. It's a shaker designed to mount on a drumstick. Very Groovy. Currently RT is running a contest, where players just like YOU can submit a video playing your StickBall. You could win awesome RhythmTech gear, and the contest is judged monthly by Bee-Dubya himself. Cruise over to the RhythmTech site for all the deets.
Interviews from the 2008 Modern Drummer Festival
Billy spent some time with some of today's top drummers, asking them about their inspiration. Check it out! You can read the full article (reprinted courtesy of MD), and download some audio interview bits.
In Tune with the Pros
DRUMscene Magazine talks with Evans Brand Manager, Mike Robinson, and 10 of Evans' top performing artists about their tuning and head choices. One of those folks just happens to be the affable Billy Ward. Grab the entire article right here. (it's a 2.64MB Adobe PDF file -- get the reader, if you need it.). Used with permission.
